We made this hairpin from birch. The drawing of the ship was carved by us by hand using cutters. The hairpin itself was tinted with a very ligth brown stain. An environmentally friendly shellac coating was used as a finishing layer. Shellac as wood finish is natural and non-toxic in its pure form. A finish made of shellac is UV-resistant.
