This tea bowl was made in my small pottery workshop here in Taiwan.
I used local Taiwanese clay and then applied layered shino glazes over the bowl.
The white icing-like sections were from a thicker shino glaze that I applied over the first layer.
The foot ring was hand carved, adding more originality to the piece. I believe a good tea bowl should show the hand of the maker. A hand crafted tea bowl eventually finds the right owner. Tea bowls somehow 'speak' to people. Maybe this one is communicating to you?
