This tea bowl was made in my small pottery workshop here in Taiwan.
I used local Taiwanese clay and then applied a shino glaze over the bowl.
While throwing the bowl, I moved the clay around quite a lot, adding movement and energy.
The foot ring was hand carved, adding more originality to the piece. I believe a good tea bowl should show the hand of the maker. A hand crafted tea bowl eventually finds the right owner. Tea bowls somehow 'speak' to people. Maybe this one is communicating to you?
